How booking works

Reserve with 30%
Your date is held once the reservation payment is in. Full refund if you cancel more than 30 days out.
- 02
Card hold, not a charge
We place a temporary authorization on your card (for example $2,000 for the event system, never more than $5,000) and release it once the gear is back and checked.
- 03
Pick up, or we bring it
Collect from Pasadena, MD, or we deliver, set up, soundcheck and take it all down. Outdoors needs a covered spot; the gear isn't weatherproof.

Need a professional DJ booth and event PA? The 8OJ Club Package combines Pioneer NXS2 performance equipment with the SRX speaker system. CDJ-3000X is the rider-spec current flagship upgrade. Rent it dry, have it delivered and set, or book The Juice on top of it.

PA Systems
Professional JBL SRX powered PA rental — two SRX815SP tops, one SRX828SP dual-18 subwoofer, and an EON 710 as appropriate, with stands, cabling, and basic system configuration. Pickup. Delivery is billed separately. The $525 day rate is the PA package. Components are available below if you already have a rig.
For live-band applications, the PA is intended for customers who already have their own mixing, microphone and monitoring package.
Need to expand your system for a larger event? 8OJ rents professional JBL SRX powered speakers and subwoofers to production companies, sound engineers, venues and event providers throughout the Baltimore/Washington/DMV area.

Scarce, well-maintained NXS2 is the standard booth. CDJ-3000X is the rider-spec current flagship upgrade. Pieces are available; the two-CDJ + mixer package is the better buy. Vinyl and booth extras sit underneath.

Delivery, setup, and strike are add-ons — not a second PA. Equipment rates stay on the gear. SRX Event System with delivery & setup is $775–$975 for the day, $1,000–$1,200 for the weekend.

Important rental information
Rental policies
8OJ Audio Works does not collect customer deposits. A reservation payment (typically 30% of the rental) is money paid toward your booking. A Rental Security Authorization is a temporary credit-card pre-authorization for equipment-related charges — not a cash deposit and not a charge when placed.
Credit-card pre-authorization
Rental Security Authorization
Instead of a customer deposit, 8OJ Audio Works places a Rental Security Authorization as a credit-card pre-authorization through our Chase Business merchant account. It is not a cash deposit and is not a charge when initially authorized, but may temporarily reduce available credit. After the equipment is returned and inspected, any unused authorization is released or allowed to expire per card-network and processor rules.
Subject to the rental agreement, processor rules, and applicable law, the authorization may be used for documented damage, loss, theft, missing gear or accessories, extraordinary cleaning or remediation, late-return charges, and other charges expressly permitted by the rental agreement. It is not a cap on liability.

Cancellation
Because rental dates and equipment are reserved specifically for you, cancellation terms for the reservation payment depend on how much notice we receive.
More than 30 days before the rental
Full refund of the reservation payment.
15–30 days before
50% of the reservation payment is retained.
Less than 15 days
The reservation payment is retained.
Less than 72 hours
8OJ may charge the full rental amount, particularly when the date cannot reasonably be rebooked.
Late returns
We provide a one-hour grace period for returns. After that, additional charges may apply based on the rental rate and the length of the delay. Late returns can affect other customers' reservations, so please contact us as soon as possible if you're running behind.
Late-return charges should be reasonable and will not exceed the applicable next full day's rental rate without a specific agreement.
Outdoor & weather
Our professional audio equipment is not weatherproof. Outdoor rentals require adequate overhead shelter and protection from rain, precipitation, dripping or splashing water, standing water, and excessive moisture.
8OJ Audio Works may suspend, relocate, or terminate equipment operation when weather or site conditions create a reasonable risk of equipment damage or personal injury. Lightning and other severe weather may require immediate shutdown.
For equipment-only rentals, the customer is responsible for providing appropriate shelter and site conditions.
Customer insurance
Proof of insurance is not normally required for standard rentals. 8OJ Audio Works may require proof of insurance for certain rentals based on the equipment, venue, event, or other circumstances.
Optional equipment protection may become available in the future. Any such program would be subject to separate terms and coverage provided by the applicable insurer or program.
Cleaning
Normal cleaning is included with your rental. We don't nickel-and-dime customers for ordinary use. Extraordinary cleaning or remediation caused by spills, mud, smoke residue, excessive contamination, or similar conditions may be charged at the reasonable cost of remediation.
Credit Card Authorization Hold
Typical authorization amounts by rental. Holds scale with what you rent, up to a maximum of $5,000. The amount held is not a cap on liability.
